JAPANESE FRUIT PIE

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 unbaked pie shells
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla flavoring

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Melt margarine, add chocolate chips and keep over low heat until chocolate is melted. Add remaining ingredients.

Pour into unbaked pie shells. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

This recipe is easily halved if only one pie is needed.

NOTE: This pie was always a favorite at Powers’ Crossroads. I never knew where the name came from and I always told everyone it was like a brownie pie!
