MUELLER’S BAKED MACARONI AND CHEESE

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch or 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 ½ cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups (8 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 8 oz. Penne Pasta (about 2 cups dry), cooked 8 minutes and drained

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In medium saucepan combine cornstarch, salt, and pepper; stir in milk. Add butter. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil over medium-high heat and boil 1 minute. Remove from heat.

Stir in 1 ¾ cups cheese until melted. Add pasta. Pour into greased 2-quart casserole. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
