WHITE WINE CAKE

Ingredients

  • 1 box Duncan Hines deluxe yellow cake mix
  • 1 small box vanilla instant pudding
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans

Glaze

  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup white wine


 

Directions for Cake

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  Grease and flour tube or Bundt pan. 

Chop pecans and sprinkle in bottom of pan.  Mix all other ingredients well and pour cake mixture carefully over pecans.

Bake for 1 hour.

 

Directions for Glaze

Mix margarine and sugar in saucepan; bring to a boil for 3 to 4 minutes.  Remove from heat and add 1/4 cup white wine.  First spoon 3/4 of mixture over cake while still hot in the pan - as soon as you remove it from the oven.  Let stand for 10 minutes or more, then invert onto cake plate and spoon on the rest of the glaze.
